Write a great personal ad!
Want to write a Great Personal Ad to meet local Ontario Singles?
There are millions of Ontario singles who now now use Canada matchmaker for their online dating and online matchmaking sites to meet other local singles and form relationships. Be sure to take plenty of time in writing your personal ad. This is your ‘first impression’ and you must make it interesting enough to entice singles to respond to it. Be creative, witty, funny and charming. Let your personality shine through. With literally millions of local personal ads out there, you must try and stand apart from the rest!
Men especially, have to realize that there are about 10 male personals to every one female personal ad. If you don’t get many replies to your personal ads, it’s probably because your personal ad is quite boring. Women tend to reply to ads that make them giggle or cause a ’sigh’. Keep this in mind when creating your ads and replying to them as well!
Post a valid, current photo.
Do you want a whole lot more responses? The absolute easiest and best way to get noticed is to post a good photo of yourself with your personal ad. Make sure the photo depicts how you “normally” look. People are generally attracted to everyday shots rather than “glamour” shots.
What exactely are you looking for?
Write a list of all the things you are looking for in a man/woman. For example, tall/short, sporty, pretty/handsome, rich, old/young. Now cut the list up. For example, looking for tall, handsome rich guy in his mid 30’s. Ads usually only allow so many words so it is important that you put the most important things that you are looking for in a Woman/Man instead of trivia bits such as, must have blonde hair, blue eyes etc..
Describe yourself.
Write a list that you think best describes you. (Honesty is the best policy.) How old are you? Are you thin, petite, big build? Are you tall/short etc.. Now narrow the list down to a small description of yourself.
Think of what you’d want to know about someone and answer those questions about yourself. People are more likely to respond to your ad if they are attracted by something you’ve told them about you.
Instead of saying you “like music, movies, and restaurants,” offer specific examples. List favorite movies, music or restaurants you like to go to
Make your ad stand out by including a special quote or describing your most intriguing feature or most memorable experiences. If you have a sense of humor, don’t just say so — show it! Have fun with your ad. You will meet more daters all over Ontario and Canada if you do.
Spelling and Grammar are important!
You must pay special attention to spelling and grammar when you are making a profile on Canada Matchmaker. Most People are more likely to take your ad seriously if you’ve taken your time and put some thought into it. First, be spontaneous, then read it over. Use proper punctuation and capitalization. ADS WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS LOOK LIKE SHOUTING. ads written in all lowercase with no punctuation even commas are hard for readers to understand don’t you agree.
“These are three most important don’ts of a great ad”
Don’t lie. You are better off telling the truth in your ad. Honesty can prevent disappointment for both you and your potential date. Just remember – you could end up meeting someone who reads your ad, so don’t say you’re 6′1″ if you’re really 5′4″.
Don’t write your life history. Write enough about yourself to catch someone’s attention. Don’t include detailed, personal information.
Never include your name, address, phone number, or other ways that someone can identify you in an ad. If you decide you want to give out personal information in future correspondence, be sure you’re giving it to someone you can trust.
